What is a custom jobs report vs. a custom job segments report?

Overview

There are two custom reports types in Absence & Substitute (Custom Jobs and Custom Segments). Custom Job Reports export each job as a separate row where Custom Job Segment Reports export each individual job segment of a job as a separate row.  Job Segments Reports are the most common report type and used for all integration between Absence & Substitute and 3rd party solutions. The principal differences in the two report types are highlighted via the examples below:

Example 1: 5-Day Job

A 5-day job will be exported as 1 row in the Custom Jobs Report and 5 Rows (one for each segment) in the Custom Job Segments Report

Example 2:  1-Day Job with 2 segments (AM and PM)

A 1-day job with a morning and afternoon segment (Example: Professional Development in the AM and Personal in the PM) would be exported as 1 row in the Custom Jobs Report and 2 rows (one for each segment) in the Custom Job Segments Report.

Example 3: 1-Day Job with 1 Segment

A 1-day job with 1 job segment would be exported as one row in the Custom Jobs Report and one row in the Custom Job Segments Report.

Below is a screenshot of the custom report creation process where the selection is made between custom Job Segment and custom Job Reports:
