This is a guide on how to troubleshoot user import errors. This guide will also cover import statuses and what they mean.
Import Statuses:
- Complete - The import has been successfully completed.
- Parsing File - Shortly after an import is run either via the import scheduler or a manual import, the Parsing File status will populate while Absence & Substitute parses out all of the data for import.
- Processing - Once the file has been parsed, Absence & Substitute is able to Process the data for import.
- Cancelled - Cancelled user imports can only take place if an administrator manually cancels the import while it's parsing or processing from the import Details page. For more information about how to cancel an import, see How to cancel a user import.
- Invalid File- Invalid File can mean one of a few issues, several of which can be resolved by the client.
- Most commonly multiple users within the file have the same email and/or personnel Id which will cause the Invalid File result. Accessing the details of the import and clicking the "Show" link (now says Hide in the image to the left) will typically highlight the duplicated value.
Note: A "" result means that more than one user has a blank email or personnel Id in the same file which also causes and Invalid file result. - Another possibility for automated imports (doesn't apply to manual imports) is that Absence & Substitute tried to find the file given the file path provided and wasn't able to locate it.
- Most commonly multiple users within the file have the same email and/or personnel Id which will cause the Invalid File result. Accessing the details of the import and clicking the "Show" link (now says Hide in the image to the left) will typically highlight the duplicated value.
- Error - Error imports are typically due to a technical issue that is out of the client's control.
- Email absence.substitute@tylertech.com with this inquiry and make sure to mention that you are receiving an Error user import status.
